2023 Virginia Family Survey Overview
The 2023 VA Family Survey was administered to parents and guardians of children aged 0-4 who applied to participate in the Virginia Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP) between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. The survey was administered online and on paper between August and November 2023 as part of a partnership between researchers at the University of Virginia, the Virginia Department of Education, and the Virginia Department of Social Services. The survey asked parents and guardians about their current child care arrangements, the process of finding child care in Virginia, their experiences with CCSP, and their preferred child care arrangements.
